A Closer Look at Fine Art Asia 2022

Fine Art Asia is back again with its lineup of art curations spanning from antiques as well as traditional and contemporary artworks. With an accumulation of over 50 galleries, the fair looks to shed light on works from artisans across the world with a balance of historic cultural pieces with current artists expressing their views on existing times.

Leading the roundup of antiques is the special exhibition The Art of Flowers by Wui Po Kok & Ming Gallery as ancient artifacts such as a stone statue of a Buddha and ceramics intertwine with floral arrangements. Rossi & Rossi held on display a mix of Chinese and Himalayan works – stone sculptures, bronzes and paintings emphasizing religious faiths from China, India, Nepal and Tibet. Among jewelry and accessories, Palais Royal Hong Kong offers an intricate timeline of Cartier jewelry and timepieces assembled throughout its history.

Tanya Baxter Contemporary sets the tone for modern-day art with a selection of British works by the likes of Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Bridget Riley, Frank Auerbach, Francis Bacon, Andy Warhol and David Hockney. Ben Brown Fine Arts divides the area with works by Puerto Rican artist Enoc Perez and American artist Ena Swansea while Whitestone Gallery opts for a presentation of contemporaries by Chinese and Japanese artists. Novalis Art Design is filled with Marcello Morandini’s Op Art sculptures that play with the viewers’ visual senses.

Yumekoubou, Alisan Fine Arts, Lam’s Gallery, Loft One Gallery, The Ink Society, THE SHOPHOUSE, Art Space K, a.m. space and more are also housed under the same roof to expound on the various works of art ranging from pottery and sculptures to mixed media paintings and traditional ink used in contemporary stylization.
