Kitt continued, “I thought I had a tumor because there was just no way that I could be pregnant, from just my medical history and the things that I did to ensure that I just had my two children.”
Kitt revealed in 2015 during a pre-taped video package for Dancing With the Stars (when Carter was competing) that she had suffered a miscarriage. Carter shared o Twitter in 2018 that his wife, whom he married in 2014, went through another miscarriage and they had lost a baby girl. The fitness expert told People that her last one, before their daughter Saoirse was born in 2019, was a second-term loss.
When Chrissy Teigen shared her own story about suffering a miscarriage and losing her and John Legend‘s baby boy Jack, Kitt and Carter didn’t feel so alone anymore.
“When she came out with her story, we were so happy because we were like, ‘Wow, other people are open and sharing their stories and it’s not so taboo,'” Kitt said. “People go through it and I was actually very grateful that they shared as much as they did and as in-depth as they did, because I mean, no one talks about it.”
Although the sex of the baby has yet to be publicly revealed, the child is due this April.
“With everything that 2020 has given to the entire world, I look at it as a blessing,” Carter added. “We love our two children and we pride ourselves on being great parents.”
