Ahead of the riot, Trump told a crowd of his supporters, who believe his claims that the election was stolen — since debunked by elections officials as well as the Justice Department — that he was going to walk down to the Capitol with them. He added, “You’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong.” He defended his speech as “totally appropriate” Jan. 12.

Mo Brooks of Alabama, and Donald Trump Jr. “Let’s discuss bringing charges against the incendiary traitors who spoke BEFORE #Trump on January 6,” she wrote. Karl Racine, the District of Columbia’s attorney general, said during a Jan. 11 interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that he’s considering charging the three men with inciting violence.
Democrats have since drafted articles of impeachment against Trump, which is expected to go up for a vote on Jan. 13. The House is also considering a resolution urging Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment in order to remove Trump from office.
The celebrated singer also expressed her concern that Biden and Kamala Harris’ inauguration will not have sufficient security. “15,000 #NationalGuard for the #Inauguration is not enough security,” she tweeted. “We all know that they are coming back. Am I by myself in begging those in charge of the Inauguration to hold it indoors at an unknown location, televised? It isn’t safe.”
“I think the #BidenHarrisInauguration should have EXACTLY the same security that was on offer at the #BLM protest, which was met with tanks, helicopters, tear gas, truncheons, & soldiers in riot gear,” she added. “Just repeat that order.”
Since the attack on the U.S. Capitol, the FBI has issued warnings about armed protests at all 50 state capitols and Washington D.C. ahead of Jan. 20, according to Reuters.
