Billboard will not be publishing the Social 50 chart, our ranking of the most-engaged-with musician accounts on social media, for an undetermined period of time as we transition to a new data partner.
Billboard is currently in talks to revive the Social 50 via a new data partner, with a planned return set for early 2021.
The suspension of the Social 50 will also affect the data formula of Billboard’s Artist 100 and Emerging Artists charts, which have utilized social media data in addition to their other metrics of radio airplay, streams and album/song sales. Those charts will not be paused during the Social 50’s break from publishing.
