Rangers will monitor the progress of Nigeria defender Leon Balogun after he was forced off with a head knock in the League Cup defeat at St Mirren on Wednesday night.

Balogun was caught by Jon Obika during the closing stages of the game.

The Nigeria international is now doubtful for the Scottish Premiership clash against Motherwell this weekend.

“He’s a bit dizzy. So we will analyse him over the next couple of days and take advice from the medical staff,” Rangers manager Steven Gerrard told Glasgow Times.

“Hopefully he can pull through. If not, we have Fil available again.”
