BTS’ latest album, BE, has topped this week’s new music poll.
Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (Nov. 20) on Billboard, choosing the K-pop group’s new eight-track album as their favorite new music release of the past week.
BE brought in nearly 47% of the vote, beating out new music by Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber (“Monster”), Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa (“Prisoner”), Megan Thee Stallion (“Good News”) and others.
After much anticipation, BE arrived on Nov. 20 through Big Hit Entertainment, offering moody synth pop with touches of acoustic rock and hip-hop. The set features record-breaking hit “Dynamite,” plus tracks like “Life Goes On,” “Fly to My Room,” “Blue & Grey,” “Skit,” “Telepathy,” “Dis-ease” and “Stay.”
Placing second on the tally with 25% of the vote was Mendes and Bieber’s poignant new collaboration “Monster,” which details the pitfalls of superstardom. The song follows Mendes’ previously-released track “Wonder,” and both will appear on his upcoming album, Wonder, scheduled for release on Dec. 4 through Island.
In third place was Cyrus and Lipa’s rocking new song “Prisoner,” which accounted for about 18% of the vote. The track’s accompanying music video finds the two superstars driving recklessly through New York in a tour bus.
“Prisoner” follows Cyrus’ retro-tinged single “Midnight Sky,” and both songs will be featured on her highly-anticipated album, Plastic Hearts, out Nov. 27.
