Sony/ATV Nashville has acquired the catalogue for country specialist River House Artists, which includes Luke Combs’ hits “Forever After All,” “Beautiful Crazy,” “When It Rains It Pours,” and “Lovin’ On You.”
In addition, the major music publisher signed a joint venture with River House Artists to provide creative services to its talent.
The independent label and music publisher River House Artists was established in 2016 by veteran executive Lynn Oliver-Cline, who co-manages Combs. “Lynn’s intuition for identifying singer-songwriters who speak right to the heart of Country Music is second to none, and she knows how to turn their dreams into reality,” comments Sony/ATV Nashville CEO Rusty Gaston on the deal. “We’re proud to partner with Lynn and the River House team as we build a long and successful future together.”
Financial terms were not disclosed.
River House Artists’ represents such hitmakers as Combs’ long-time friend and collaborator Ray Fulcher (“Does To Me,” “Even Though I’m Leaving,” “When It Rains It Pours”), Driver Williams (“Smoke A Little Smoke,” “Call Me Country”), Nicolette Hayford (“Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega,” “One Night Standards”), Jordan Rowe (“Good For Nothin”), Drew Parker (“1,2 Many,” “Nothing Like You,” “Homemade”) and more.
“When I moved to Nashville in 2013, I wanted to be Rusty Gaston,” Oliver-Cline comments. “So being able to ink a deal with him and Sony/ATV, who are already my family, is a dream come true. I can’t think of our writers and artists being in better hands. Rusty’s passion for songs, songwriters and his team is inspiring on every level. I can’t thank Jon, Rusty and Cam enough for making this happen.”
Gaston took the reins at Sony/ATV Nashville earlier this year. As part of his appointment, THiS Music, the Nashville-based publishing company he co-founded with Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Tim Nichols and celebrated songwriter Connie Harrington (“Mine Would Be You,” “I Drive Your Truck”) was acquired by Sony/ATV.
