From New York to L.A.: This Is What Our US Editors Are Buying in Zara

From New York to L.A.: This Is What Our US Editors Are Buying in Zara

As a company, we feel so lucky to have teams across the globe, from London to L.A. While we have only managed to meet our fellow US editors in person a handful of times, thanks to social media, we are no strangers to their enviable style credentials and impeccable taste. We’ll happily take any opportunity to glean inspiration and tips from across the pond and implement them in our own wardrobes, and we realised it was high time that we share their wisdom with the world.

We asked five members of the fashion team to head to one of our favourite global high-street brands, Zara, and pick the eight pieces that they’re loving right now. Of course, they did not disappoint, and they came up with a lust-worthy list of winter staples, feel-good separates, and elevating hero pieces. The whole gang’s here, from knitted dresses and chunky boots to cosy roll-necks and cute co-ords—essentially everything you could possibly need for a winning winter capsule.

This collared knit will keep me going through a winter WFH.

Ripped jeans are making a comeback—you heard it here first.

A knitted dress to wear with chunky boots and hoop earrings.

This leather pouch is just too chic for words.

I’ll layer this up with a black roll-neck now and then pair it with chunky sandals come summer.

Wear alone or layered over a white shirt.

Roll-neck bodysuits are my layering hero item this season.

Only Zara could make me want to revisit the noughties bolero.

Just when you thought a trench coat couldn’t get better, Zara created this chocolate brown faux leather version.

Season after season, truly, the only staple I swear by during the winter is an oversize sweater dress. It can be worn at home or to the grocery store and is as comfortable as sweats but makes you look like you put in the effort to get dressed.

Living in New York requires you to opt for practical shoe trends, and luckily for me, chunky ankle boots are both all the rage and the easiest style to wear this season.

No matter what name you call them (a shrug, bolero, cardigan, or sweater sleeve), I can’t stop thinking about the barely-there sweater trend that’s everywhere. And this version from Zara is something I’m looking to swoop up ASAP.

Lace-up pieces have been bubbling up everywhere, from luxury labels like Christopher Esber to Zara. And it’s a trend that’s going to be around well into 2021.

I can’t stop obsessing over lingerie-inspired pieces, and this sweater, with its ribbing detail that mimics a corset, caught my eye immediately.

Yes, this the second leather outwear piece in my cart, but can you blame me? Leather blazers are the staple piece I (and just about all of Instagram) can’t seem to get over.

Knit sets are really the only thing I want to lounge in, and this Zara set with a matching Ribbed Knit Top and Ribbed Knit Sweater is too dreamy not to cop.

I have too many tank tops, so I just ordered this to put them to use when it’s chilly.

I’m always drawn to a cute bucket hat.

The ’90s kid in me wants to own this.

I haven’t bought many dresses this year, but when I do, they look something like this.

I already love dad jeans, so this seems like a natural progression.

I have so much trouble resisting a good camel coat.

My winter wardrobe won’t be complete until I get a pair of chunky riding boots.

I’m daydreaming about how cool this would look underneath an oversize blazer.

This fuzzy cardigan is exactly the kind of thing I find myself living in during the colder months. It’s fun yet extremely easy to wear with all my jeans and basic bottoms.

If you don’t own a shacket yet, what are you waiting for? This versatile outerwear trend is stylish, practical, and really fun to style.

The cut-out trend is one I have grown quite fond of this fall, and this rib-knit bodysuit is my answer to how to carry on the trend into the winter season.

I live in my Dr. Martens, but these rich brown chunky boots feel like just the pair I need for when I want to feel a tad more polished.

Who knows what the party circuit will bring us this holiday season, but I plan on buying this simple silky minidress just in case a socially distant event may pop up on my calendar.

Fun sweaters are always a good idea in my book.

If you struggle to find coats that will still look cute atop all your chunky layers, look no further. This oversize coat is perfect for exactly that and comes in multiple colors.

I am so tired of wearing the same few pairs of sweatpants over and over again. This cute knit set is exactly what I have been craving to make me feel better about my appearance while working from home.

Shackets are trending hard, and this is the one everyone needs.

The number one shoe trend I want to add to my wardrobe right now.

I literally can’t get enough of the jumpsuit trend.

Silver is the metal we’re seeing everywhere, but if you can’t quit gold, this is the piece for you.

If there’s one piece that’s definitely missing from my closet, it’s this.

These ’90s-style ripped jeans are my latest obsession. I can’t get enough of them.

This is guaranteed to sell out immediately.

The tie detail at the waist makes this piece unmissable.
