Chance the Rapper dropped by The Tonight Show on Monday (Nov. 16) for a chat, some playtime and a perform with G Herbo.
Seated in a big red couch at the CRC studio, the Chicago hip-hop star opened up on his journey, his origins as an artist (yes, he was once known as Chano), family, virtual concerts and more.
His dad, we learned, wasn’t initially a fan of Chance’s career choice. “In the beginning, he did not want me to be a rapper,” he said with a laugh. That’s all changed.
The three-time Grammy winner also joined in for something fun, a game of “Kid Raps.” Chance and Jimmy Fallon put some life into lyrics, written by viewers’ kids based on the lyrics to the hip-hop star’s songs. There was “Juice,” “Brain Cells” and more. For certain, there won’t be any Grammys for these efforts, but they provided more than a few laughs.
Finally, Chance guested on a performance of G Herbo “PTSD,” the title track from the U.S. rapper’s third studio album.
