As runway shows were replaced with presentations and virtual events became the norm, there is no denying that Spring/Summer 2021 fashion month certainly deviated from the traditional September schedule. While we once were accustomed to seeing hoards of industry insiders flock to runway shows and presentations with attendees in the hundreds, this year was a decidedly more low-key affair.
Though less fanfare does not necessarily equate to less impressive fashion, as the collections we did see this season still managed to make an impact. From Chanel’s logo-emblazoned tiaras to Prada’s fresh spin on the pointed-toe heel, S/S21 offered up several chic accessories which we predict will be big news in six months time. Burberry opted for a show-stopping over-the-knee boot, while Louis Vuitton debuted its own take on the mini bag, and Chloe added interesting hardware to its already impressive handbag collection. And of course, who could forget Chanel’s new take on the loafer.
