After Destroyer wraps their tour with Father John Misty this March, the Dan Bejar-led project will release a new album titled Dan’s Boogie. Today, they shared the lead single “Bologna,” featuring Fiver’s Simone Schmidt.
Due on March 28th via Merge Records, Dan’s Boogie will be the first album from Destroyer since 2022’s Labyrinthitis. Spanning nine new songs, the album will feature “spectacle-laden pop epics, personal piano ballads, and smoldering works of mood that blur the lines between song and novel and cinema,” according to its press release.
The new single, “Bologna,” see’s Bejar take a new approach to narrative in his songwriting by imagining himself as a “supporting character” to the action, and juxtaposing his breathy, conversational vocals with Schmidt’s the smooth, melodic croon.

In a statement, Bejar explained, “I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna.’ I struggled singing the first and third verses, the most important parts of the song. They needed gravity and grit. The threat of disappearing needed to be real. So, I called Simone.”
The single arrives with a music video directed by David Galloway, starring Bejar and Schmidt. Watch the video below.
As for the tour dates with Father John Misty, Destroyer will perform in Atlanta, Nashville, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, and more cities this February and March. Then, in June, they’ll head to Barcelona for a set at Primavera Sound 2025. Get tickets to their upcoming shows here.
