Comedian Chris Rock returned to Saturday Night Live to host for a fourth time, and the hot topic of the evening was UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin, Luigi Mangione.
The night kicked off with a cold-open skit joking about Mangione’s “sex symbol” status, followed by a monologue from Rock which addressed the situation directly. “It was so hard just getting into the building tonight, so much security,” he told the audience, before assuring them that law enforcement “got Luigi.”
Continuing, Rock said, “I really feel sorry for the family. I mean, everybody’s fixated on how good-looking this guy looks. If he looked like Jonah Hill, no one would care. They’d already given him the chair already.”

Rock then expressed again that he has “real condolences” for the CEO, before joking, “But you also gotta know, sometimes drug dealers get shot. I mean, you’ve seen The Wire, right?”
Elsewhere in the monologue, Rock touched on the re-election of Donald Trump, placing some well-placed jabs on people who are worried that the President Elect will be “undignified” in the office.
“Dude, it’s the United States presidency,” Rock said. “Come on, man. This is not the most dignified job in the world… You know the history of this country? You know how many rapists are in my wallet right now? A cup of coffee in America costs seven rapists. Trump’s gonna get it down to three.”
Rock also joked about the Menendez brothers (“Getting out of jail… just in time to get deported”), Trump working with Elon Musk (“Nobody knows how to get rid of people like a South African”), and Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter Biden (“I got to hand it to Joe, man,” Rock said. “He don’t move as fast as he used to. He don’t talk as fast as he used to, you know–but that middle finger still works!)
