Jay-Z and Beyoncé were all smiles as they attended the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King, showing major support for their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. The event was held in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre, where Blue Ivy, who’s 12, was there for her role in the new Disney movie.
Mufasa: The Lion King is a prequel to the classic Lion King film and focuses on Simba’s father, Mufasa. Blue Ivy’s involvement in this project is a huge moment, especially since she’s still so young and already making waves in Hollywood. Fans are eager to hear Blue Ivy’s voice acting in the movie, as she’s already proven herself as a rising star, even winning a Grammy at just 9 years old. It’s clear that her superstar parents are fully behind her as she continues to chase her dreams.
Jay-Z hit the red carpet just a day after being named in a lawsuit with Diddy. The lawsuit accuses them of assaulting a 13-year-old girl back in 2000. It was originally filed in October with just Diddy listed, but this past Sunday, Jay-Z (whose real name is Shawn Carter) was added to the case. Hov made a statement regarding the accusations, “My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
