Greta Gerwig‘s reboot of The Chronicles of Narnia is expected to be quite different than what audiences may expect.
In a recent conversation with Deadline, producer Amy Pascal revealed that the production of the film is set to begin filming next July. Pascal also dropped spoilers of what fans can expect from Gerwig’s interpretation of C.S. Lewis’ fantasy novel series, “[It will be] a very new take on Narnia. It’s all about rock and roll.” Pascal praises Gerwig stating that she had “never seen anything like [her].” Fans have been taken aback from the description of the reboot as “rock and roll.” While no further details have been confirmed, the CEO of Netflix Ted Sarandos previously said, “It will be bigger and bolder than they thought.” Gerwig did recently claim that the film will combine folklore and fairy tales of England. She is set to direct at least tow of the films in the saga.
Gerwig has had a great track record with her films. For instance her blockbuster film Barbie established unimaginable records. Her previous films like Little Women and Lady Bird were also critically acclaimed. Her adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia is expected to release in late 2025.
