Conan O’Brien just went to the extreme while filming a new season of his travel documentary series Conan O’Brien Must Go — extreme metal, that is! The funnyman fronted the Austrian band Cringe Blizzard on Thursday night (December 5th), and now he’s feeling the pain.
If you’ve seen Conan O’Brien Must Go, then you know that the comedian often puts himself in uncomfortable situations. This time around he decided to challenge himself by fronting Cringe Blizzard, who self-describe themselves as “fresh ‘n icy slush metal from Austria.”
A local news outlet captured video of Conan’s performance (see below), where he shares the stage with Cringe Blizzard’s frontwoman Katharina, who had invited Conan to come to Austria earlier this year during an appearance on his podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.

In the video, Conan holds his own alongside Katharina, letting out a few vicious screams along the way. At the end of the performance, he tells the audience that he would give them each five Euros if they met him out in the parking lot after the show.
Conan later posted on Instagram, “Just got a hernia singing with a metal band in Feldkirch, Austria,” along with a few photos. The band also posted pics on its Instagram account while expressing their gratitude toward Conan.
While it might not be as thrilling as singing with a metal band, Conan will host the upcoming Oscars on March 2nd at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
