André 3000 is preparing to release even more new music in 2025.
During a conversation with Wayno at Camp Flog Gnaw over the weekend, the artist explained that his “vision board” for 2025 included “New music, for sure,” and, “New ways to distribute and and express. I don’t wanna pinpoint what it is, but I just wanna express more. Put it like that.”
3 Stacks’ answer supports another recent interview with Touré, when he confirmed that he’s currently finishing up a new project. “At this point, I’m just trying to keep the momentum. There’s such a thing as creative momentum,” he said. “The next stuff is very interesting, too. We’re almost a third — or halfway — into it. … I don’t know when it will be ready. Who knows.”
The OutKast member also shared his gratitude for receiving a GRAMMY nomination for New Blue Sun, “I’m just happy to get paid attention to.” He further told Touré, “The awards are nice because you know at that point more people get to listen and pay attention to what you’re doing, so more than anything, that’s what I love about it.” He confirmed, however, that his first solo release doesn’t count as an album under his solo deal with Epic Records as it’s not a rap album — and his next one won’t be a hip-hop release, either. “Nah, I don’t have a rap album, none of that kinda sh*t, so I’m not stressed about it,” he shared. “I wish it would count. It’s interesting news that artists should hear: that this new album is not counting.”
Stay tuned for more details.
