Beyoncé is bringing a Cowboy Carter Christmas to Netflix. Spreading the holiday cheer on NFL‘s Christmas Gameday, live on the streamer, Queen Bey has been announced as the halftime performer for the Ravens and Texans’ game on Wednesday, December 25, the second match on Christmas Day that will be available on Netflix.
Netflix is kicking off what appears to be a new holiday tradition, introducing live games on the streamer. The streamer previously announced that it would be the global home of the NFL’s two Christmas Day marquee games — the Super Bowl LVII-winning Kansas City Chiefs will face the Pittsburgh Steelers live on Netflix at 1 p.m. ET and at 4:30p.m. ET the Baltimore Ravens take on the Houston Texans. The Texans will host the Ravens at NRG Stadium. Beyoncé’s addition sees the performer return home to Houston for Christmas.
The show will be produced by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment as well as Jesse Collins Entertainment. Beyonce’s halftime performance will mark the first time the artist will be performing from her record-breaking Cowboy Carter album. No stranger to the NFL stage, Beyoncé headlines the Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 in New Orleans and was joined onstage by fellow Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. In 2016, she joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars on the field for one of the most-watched Super Bowl halftime shows of all time. So far, the performance details for Beyoncé’s Christmas Gameday halftime performance have been kept under wraps but she is expected to bring out some special features for the show.
