Just over a year after after John Krasinski‘s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan adventure thriller series comes to an end at Amazon Prime, Amazon MGM Studios is reviving the character for a franchise film.
Krasinski is set to return as the titular intrepid CIA analyst alongside Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly. The feature film will see Andrew Bernstein direct. Bernstein previously served as an executive producer and director for the second season of the series. Aaron Rabin who was the co-executive producer and writer for season four, is slated to pen the script for the film. Jack Ryan was based on Clancy’s characters in the “Ryanverse” and the series ran for four seasons on Amazon Prime Video, making it to the streamer’s top three most watched series around the world. Krasinski is producing the film alongside Allyson Seeger and Andrew Form. The studios involved with the production are Paramount Pictures and Skydance which see Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will executive produce alongside John Kelly and Carlton Cuse.
Bernstein had previously landed the main director role for Netflix’s Ozark and most recently, many episodes of HBO’s Welcome to Derry. Krasinski comes off of writing, producing and directing IF, the family fantasy starring Ryan Reynolds..
