Top Dawg Entertainment‘s Kal Banx and Isaiah Rashad have a plethora of collaborative credits, with titles including “What U Sed” with Doechii and “Deep Blue” with Young Nudy among a slew of other cuts Banx has produced for Rashad. The duo has joined hands once again on a standalone single entitled “Sunstory,” which finds the seasoned collaborators operating in their sonic sweet spot.
“Livin’ on that freeway so they couldn’t get close to me / Trippin’ on them lights still, help a babyface goes to sleep,” goes the chorus, with Banx handling some bars as well as the track’s production.
Banx recently contributed production to fellow TDE talent Ab-Soul‘s “Crazier” with JID off Ab’s forthcoming post-hiatus LP, as well as sporadic contributions throughout Doechii’s acclaimed Alligator Bites Never Heal mixtape.
“Sunstory” also follows up Banx’s recent single with Smino and Buddy “HOP OUT CHO FEELINGS,” with both tracks featuring similarly designed cover artwork. Whether Banx has an album on the way remains unconfirmed, but stay tuned as more information becomes available.
