Best New Tracks: Cochise, Tyler, the Creator, Aminé and More

As the week in music comes to a close, Hypebeast has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.

This week’s lineup is led by an album from Cochise and a solid lineup of singles coming from: Tyler the Creator, Matt Champion, Lil Yachty, Aminé x Smino, Paris Texas, Romy x Sampha, Saba x No ID, Summer Walker and KidSuper x Giggs x Quavo.

Cochise – WHY ALWAYS ME?

After unveiling an impressive string of singles throughout the year, Cochise has finally dropped the album. WHY ALWAYS ME? marks his first long-form release since 2022 and sees features from Aminé, Veeze and Anycia across the 18-track, hip-hop-meets-dancehall LP.

Tyler, the Creator – “NOID”

As CHROMAKOPIA nears closer (now just three days away but who’s counting…) Tyler has dropped off the first official single from the project. “NOID” follows up the preview of “St. Chroma” from last week and features a cameo from Ayo Edebiri in the music video.

Matt Champion – “Faye”

Marking his first new release since Mika’s Laundry, Matt Champion surprised fans with the trap-tinged “Faye.” The track clocks in at a little over two minutes, and is reportedly lifted from Champion’s imminent new project.

Lil Yachty – “We Ball Forever” / “Cry Me A River” / “All Around The World”

Boat surprised everyone when he dropped off three standalone singles earlier in the week. Entitled “We Ball Forever,” “Cry Me A River” and “All Around The World,” each track, albeit rather brief, also comes equipped with a colorful new visual. The new cuts have yet to land on DSPs.

Aminé x Smino – “Passenger Princess / Adam”

On the heels of his latest New Balance collab, Aminé dropped off a two-pack that encapsulates his artistry versatility. On new songs “Passenger Princess,” which features Smino, and “Adam,” Aminé flips the switch from his high-voltage flow to his more vulnerable side.

Paris Texas – “RökKOut”

Arriving just ahead of their announcement as support on the CHROMAKOPIA world tour, Paris Texas presented their first studio release since MID AIR. “RökKOut” is a classic Paris Texas offering that expands upon the precedent the duo set on their 2023 debut.

Romy x Sampha – “I’m on your team”

After first collaborating on Sampha’s radio show earlier this year, the two British musicians actually got in the studio together for a soulful single. “I’m on your team” combines Romy and Sampha’s respective ethos, with each of their vocals pairing dreamily with the other’s atop the piano melody.

Saba x No ID – “How To Impress God”

Chicago’s favorite rapper-producer duo has dropped off another look into their forthcoming Private Collection of Saba & No ID project. “How To Impress God” marks Saba and No ID’s second single of 2024, with their aforementioned LP slated to drop sometime soon.

Summer Walker – “Heart Of A Woman”

Summer Walker revealed the lead single from her long-awaited Finally Over It follow-up to 2021’s Still Over It. Entitled “Heart Of A Woman,” the track hears Walker reflect on a recent relationship over a sleekly produced R&B beat.

KidSuper x Giggs x Quavo – “Big In Da Game”

Colm Dillane has begun his foray into the music space with the first single from KidSuper Records. “Big In Da Game,” by Quavo and Giggs, was first conceptualized by Giggs for the fashion house’s STRING THEORY Fall/Winter 2024 Paris Fashion Week showcase, with show attendee Quavo inspired to hop on after hearing it live.
