In every emerging “underground” rapper’s trajectory into the mainstream – if they’re lucky, that is – they’ll land a Lyrical Lemonade music video, which often serves as another springboard into the collective conscious. The latest to make his Lyrical Lemonade debut is rising rapper Nettspend, who, at just 17 years old, continues to take the Internet and its surrounding ethers by storm.
Nettspend debuted his new song “F*CK SWAG” with a striking Cole Bennett-directed visual, set on an empty stage with nothing but a chandelier hanging. As revealed in an Instagram, Bennett used Arri LF, Sony FX3 and Phantom cameras on Canon K35 and Laowa Probe lenses.
“Uh, I went to Poland, do you still think that I’m jokin’? / Yeah, uh, ain’t no Wock’ in Poland, but we got some poles in,” Nettspend asserts in the first verse from underneath the swinging chandelier.
The video arrives as a byproduct of a challenge Bennett set for himself: “Create a very simple set of a room with nothing but a chandelier. Shoot it from every possible perspective and manage to keep it exciting.”
Bennett also shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video.
“F*CK SWAG” arrives on the heels of Lyrical Lemonade’s 11-year anniversary.
