Jamie xx and the Australian electronic duo The Avalanches have come together for a new song “All You Children.” The song is off Jamie xx’s upcoming sophomore album In Waves, set to release on September 20, almost a decade after his debut.
The dance track starts with the declaration “All you children, gather ’round / We will dance and we will whirl” before the beat comes in. The club track features a chorus of chants layered over a fast-paced beat, making it perfect for dancing. The unique production makes for a hypnotic listening experience which Jamie xx is known for.
“All You Children” is the fourth single from In Waves with the first singles also featuring collaborations with artists like Honey Dijon and Robyn. The album will contain 12 tracks and have a runtime of 44 minutes.
Jamie xx reflected on the song stating, “The Avalanches have always been an inspiration for me. Their sample technique and how they piece together different sounds is incredible, and collaborating on a track with them has shown me new ways of making music.”
The Avalanches added, “We’re so excited about the release of this track with Jamie “All You Children.” We hope you love it as much as we do.”
