Montell Fish has released two new singles, “DISTRACTION” and “SCREAM MY NAME.” The tracks are essentially Fish with familiar vocals and lyrics tackling the obsession and doubt that comes with love. Separate from the singles, Fish is also releasing his new album, Charlotte on August 23.
“DISTRACTION” delivers an ethereal experience with soft vocals layered over an electric guitar riff. The lyrics dive into the obsession Fish is experiencing. He sings, “You’re such a distraction, I swear you’re made for my madness.” The song continues to build until the climax at the end when he repeats “I can’t keep letting this happen.”
“SCREAM MY NAME” is a vocal showcase where Fish’s falsetto is paired with heavy reverb. He dives into feelings of doubt and longing, singing “you haven’t screamed my name in a while” repeatedly.
The Charlotte album carries on the trilogy that began with his 2022 album JAMIE. The album is set to be deeply personal, delving into the psychology behind memory, attachment, loss and growth.
Fish also has an extensive North American tour planned. The Charlotte tour consists of 20 dates and includes cities like Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Toronto and New York City, ending in October 2024.
