Keen is taking a step into lifestyle with the launch of its new KS86 sneaker.

The Keen KS86, the brand’s first-ever lifestyle-oriented sneaker, is modeled after the A86 trail running sneaker that debuted in 2010. A lugged outsole provides sturdy grip while climbing up the toe, heel and sidewalls while hosting a lightweight foam midsole. The KS86’s ethically sourced suede and mesh construction borrows some of the low-profile lines of the A86’s upper, while the removable insole removable makes use of additional foam and an Eco Anti-Odor treatment.

Keen is positioning the KS86 as the “it” shoe for the eco-conscious consumer and is also touting it for all-day wear with durability and easy washing.

The A86 was widely praised in outdoor circles for its low weight and glove-like fit, and Trail Running magazine recognized the sneaker for its 2011 Editor’s Choice Awards. A $90 price tag also made it accessible, and its successors $110 asking price doesn’t put it too far off today.

The Keen KS86 is out now through Keen’s website with five colorways each available for men and women. An additional variant makes use of leather rather than mesh at $130 with three colorways each for men and women.
