With low levels of fitness in India, obesity is naturally bound to kick in. If things don’t approve, the percentage can also reach up to 60%. However, a new study has revealed that if one follows a healthy lifestyle, then one can prevent the genetic risk of obesity.
The sedentary lifestyle and higher food intake can lead to this disease which is non-infectious but has taken over the world by storm especially after the pandemic. Yes, obesity is very easy to get and very difficult to let go.
In this study, researchers identified more than 338,600 individuals of white British descent from the United Kingdom Biobank who met genetic quality control criteria. They excluded over 1,000 subjects due to missing data on body mass index (BMI) or obesity-related morbidities (ORMs), resulting in a final inclusion of 337,554 individuals.
Most of the times, it’s what you eat and sometimes it’s genetic and genes are not destiny. Both can be prevented if you follow a good diet, sleep and hydration. this is the key to a good, happy and healthy life.
