Maserati is marking the 20th anniversary of its iconic MC12 with the launch of two special editions: the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda. These limited editions commemorate Maserati’s return to racing in 2004 after a 37-year hiatus when the MC12 became a benchmark in GT championships.
Both editions are limited to 20 units each and feature bespoke liveries and exclusive content inspired by the MC12 Stradale and MC12 GT1 Vitaphone. The MC20 Icona, with its Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale livery, calls back to the Maserati Trofeo Light that competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona. The MC20 Leggenda, sporting Nero Essenza and Digital Mint Matte, mirrors the colors of the award-winning MC12 GT1 from the Vitaphone Racing team.
The MC20 Icona features unique Fuoriserie personalization details, such as chrome-plated wheels with blue Trident logos, blue brake calipers and an auto-dimming mirror. The MC20 Leggenda boasts trident wheels in Nero Lucido and yellow Trident logos on the grille and doors.
Both editions come with racing interiors, including lightweight 4-way monocoque racing seats, Trident embroidery and a sophisticated Sonus faber sound system. Shared features include a carbon fiber interior package, an electronic limited-slip differential and a suspension lifter.
The MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda celebrate Maserati’s golden era on the track, where the MC12 GT1 secured 27 victories in FIA GT Championships, three 24 Hours of Spa wins and numerous team and driver championships between 2004 and 2010. At the time of writing, Maserati has not shared the starting price for the limited edition models, however, a dedicated page is live on the automaker’s official site, along with an acquisition inquiry form.
