Huang Ean Hwa helmed Valhalla Garage, in collaboration with Feruni, has launched the “Art 911 Project,” a stunning integration of automotive and tile craftsmanship. This initiative was revealed at Feruni’s headquarters during their immersive event, “Discover New Art Forms with Feruni.”
The centerpiece of the project is a 1978 Porsche 911 Turbo, meticulously adorned with Feruni tiles. This unique creation was engineered by Studio Feruni to ensure the tiles complemented the car’s iconic curves while maintaining its mechanical integrity. This project exemplifies Feruni’s new vision of combining art with functionality, reflecting its rebranded identity as a disruptive force in the tile industry.
“It was important to get the size of the tile correct – too big and the tiles wouldn’t hug the curves of the turbo flares and the body lines. It couldn’t be too small either, as that would’ve been a nightmare to execute,” shared Hwa.
Hwa, an advertising veteran and Porsche restoration expert, led the Art 911 Project. His passion for classic Porsches and innovative design converged perfectly with Feruni’s commitment to meticulous craftsmanship. “Feruni’s reputation for creating artful tiles is unparalleled. This project allowed us to merge two seemingly unrelated fields to create something extraordinary,” said Hwa.
Feruni’s rebranding includes a new tagline, “Where Every Tile Is A Work of Art,” and aims to transform living and working spaces with innovative tile designs. The Art 911 Project and other collaborations mark Feruni’s strategic move to expand its creative horizons, starting in Southeast Asia and eventually worldwide.
