After our wedding got a bit too exciting thanks to a tropical cyclone that stranded us all on an island, I’m extremely happy to report that the forecast for our upcoming honeymoon in Mallorca is looking delightfully uneventful: 80-something and sunny every day, classic June weather for this happy little spot in Spain. Like any trip, I’m torn between scooping up some last minute vacation-ready pieces that I’m convinced capture the vibe (chic and effortless, blah blah, you know the drill), or saving room in my suitcase in case I innocently stumble across some accidental shopping while I’m there.
With the all-too-tempting greatest hits of summer fashion in full swing (leather sandals, excellent raffia shoppers, loads of poplin), I’m leaning towards treating myself to just a few things that feel a little special, and that are versatile enough to wear both beachside in Spain, and in New York when I drag myself back to the city. Here’s everything I’m eyeing for my Euro vacation.
MATTEAU
+ Net Sustain Floral-Print Recycled Triangle Bikini
Aussie brand Matteau is always my first stop for summer.
Mejuri
Pearl and Beads Bracelet
Just a fun little bracelet that tells everyone you’re on vacation, and not taking yourself too seriously.
A.EMERY
Morgan Satin Flip Flops
Satin footwear is a whole thing this season, so these minimalist thongs are a great little nod to a trend if trendy isn’t really your thing.
OLIVER PEOPLES
+ Khaite 1969 Oval-Frame Tortoiseshell Acetate Sunglasses
Everyone’s favorite eyewear collab.
MANGO
Sunglasses Beads Chain
Extremely into beaded sunglasses chains, as I’m also extremely into not losing my sunglasses while stepping onto a boat.
THE FRANKIE SHOP
Mirca Striped Cotton-Blend Poplin Wide-Leg Pants
Tried these on in-store and *highly recommend*.
Madewell
The Ariana Midi Dress
I also tried this on in-store, and I have a very good feeling about it being this trip’s perfect day-to-night dress.
MANGO
Patent Leather Effect Heeled Sandal
One little pair of heels will be plenty—I’ve been into a kitten heel of late, but I’m going to need something a little more cobblestone-friendly.
& Other Stories
Large Woven Straw Tote
Large enough for a day’s worth of crossword books and towels and snacks.
Le Specs
Outta Love Sunglasses
It’s always the cheaper sunglasses that you never scratch or lose (so make sure they’re cute).
STAUD
Jo Balconette Bikini Top
A very Euro-vacation shade of green. (Bottoms linked here.)
Xero Shoes
Genesis Packable Sport Sandals
If I don’t snap up a pair of sporty rope sandals before I go, I’m very confident I‘ll cave while I’m away.
MANGO
Suit Jacket With Adjustable Back Strap
I‘m ready for a new, great, throw-over-anything blazer.
JENNIFER BEHR
Mar Gold-Tone and Cord Necklace
Teen dream cord necklaces are where I’m at this summer.
Reformation
Dahlia Cotton Sweater Dress
This dress with a slicked back bun is just really speaking to me.
THE YSSO
Cote Gold-Plated Earrings
The search is on for some fun gold earrings to rival the anchovies I bought from Lisa Says Gah last summer.
LOEWE
+ Paula’s Ibiza Puzzle Fold Xl Leather-Trimmed Raffia Tote Bag
Okay fine, if we’re going to talk about luxe raffia totes, let’s just do it.
HUNZA G
Celine Metallic Seersucker Swimsuit
One-size swimwear makes my brain break (I mean—how?) but I have so many friends who swear by their Hunza G bikinis and one-pieces that I’m dying to try.
Topshop
Patchwork Stripe Long Denim Shorts
This mixed stripe feels a little unexpected and interesting, but still very chill.
BONDI BORN
Nikko Pleated Organic Linen Maxi Dress
Another excellent Australian brand that really gets the vibe.
