Lucky Daye is deep in the rollout of his forthcoming third studio LP, Algorithm. The singer has now returned with a new song entitled “Soft.” While it’s a ballad thematically about vulnerability and sensitivity, the sound of the song is anything but, featuring Daye singer over vibrant drum sequences.
In a special release, the artist shared a live performance video, letting his raw vocals shine.
“‘Soft’ is about how love can come over a person and make them feel vulnerable, and whilst it’s unexpected, it’s also okay to embrace it,” Daye said.
“To be comfortable doing the things society labels “soft” like cuddling, PDA, hugging and kissing – shamelessly. It’s about a lover putting a spell on you but that spell is in fact love itself.”
“Soft” follows another release of Daye’s in a similar vein, the lovesick “HERicane.” Most of the singer’s work is about love and the ups and downs of relationships, so its likely fans will get more of those themes on Algorithm, which was also just revealed to be dropping on June 28.
