Shaboozey‘s latest full-length effort, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, is here.
Clocking in at approximately 40 minutes, the 12-track effort features guest appearances from Paul Cauthen on “Last of My Kind,” Noah Cyrus on “My Fault” and BigXthaPlug on “Drink Don’t Need No Mix.” The 29-year-old takes his listeners on a journey through his distinctive sonic space of alternative country/folk and hip-hop, and blends his Nigerian roots with his Virginian upbringing to craft a very personal and intimate listening experience with the depth of his songwriting.
“This album means the world to me, it’s a reflection of my journey and the stories that shaped me,” he shared in a statement. “Growing up in Virginia, music was our way of speaking truths and finding joy, and I tried to capture that in every track. It’s a blend of all my experiences, the highs, the lows, and everything in between. I hope when y’all listen, you feel that same connection and authenticity. It’s not just an album, it’s a piece of my soul, and I’m grateful to share it with you.”
