Detroit took its place as center of the techno music universe Saturday as the 23rd edition of the Movement festival kicked off the first of three days at Hart Plaza for an expected 30,000-plus daily fans.
The Memorial Day weekend tradition brought big beats and colorful fashions to the sunny riverfront, along with artists on six stages, part of a blitz of electronic music this weekend across the city at bars, clubs, popups and afterparties.
At Hart Plaza, performances were scheduled to include opening-night sets from Detroit’s Carl Craig and Tee Grizzley, along with European DJ Solomon as the main stage closer. Movement will continue Sunday and Monday.
