Leather-Bound Example of the “Unofficial and Unauthorized” Story of Ferrari Surfaces for Sale

Leather-Bound Example of the “Unofficial and Unauthorized” Story of Ferrari Surfaces for Sale

A leather-bound example of Stuart Codling’s The Story of Ferrari, first published in 2021 has surfaced for sale via Uncrate, priced at $100 USD, with only one unit said to be available at the time of writing. This “Unofficial and Unauthorized” book covers the 70-year history of the iconic Italian car manufacturer, from the first 125 S to contemporary classics and its F1 contributions.

For the unfamiliar, Colding is a respected motorsport journalist and broadcaster who has appeared as an F1 expert on TV and radio, hosted for Renault F1 and contributed to F1 Racing, Autosport, Autocar and the Red Bulletin. In addition to The Story of Ferrari he has authored several other books, including Real Racers: Formula 1 Racing in the 1950s and 1960s, Art of the Formula 1 Race Car, Art of the Classic Sports Car, The Life Monaco and many others.

As the title would suggest, The Story of Ferrari explores the iconic Italian automotive brand, most notably its design and engineering philosophies instilled by Enzo Ferrari. Other elements the book highlights include the most iconic models across decades of Ferrari history, including the 125 S, F40, Testarossa and Enzo. The book’s 160 pages are filled with stunning imagery and insightful commentary, charting the history of this legendary marque in a package worthy of the name.

Despite the expansive overview of Ferrari, the book is presented in a pocket-size package, with its dimensions measuring 5.25” x 0.5” x 7.25” — other note-worthy details include the fact that it’s made in the U.S. and is wrapped in hand-bound bonded leather. It’s worth adding that while hardcover copies of the book can be purchased from Amazon for roughly $15 USD via the publisher, this special edition leather-bound example seems to be one of the last few available online, with other retailers sold out of their copies — for those interested, the book can be purchased for $100 USD.
