German cycling brand Canyon has just released its highly-anticipated Grizl:ON e-bike, with the new design offering a best-of-both-worlds design that provides functionality in the city and throughout the great outdoors.
The Grizl:ON has been released as the perfect morning commuter bike, while it also offers quality for riders who want to explore more treacherous and uneasy terrains. This versatility is offered through the bike’s innovative features, from the Canyon VCLS seat post to the Fidlock QuickLoader bag. Meanwhile, other handy practicalities come in the form of the fenders and 40mm front suspension for increased off-road capability.
Canyon has also included an adventure-ready frame that’s amplified by the compact Bosch SX drive unit housed in a lightweight carbon frame. It weighs in at just two kilograms, while the mid-assist Bosch SX system is lighter than the CX version and promotes active riding for a more human-powered engaging experience.
The bike’s smaller motor then makes for more responsive handling and lighter overall weight — and this is thanks to the Bosch SX motor that hits that “sweet spot” between light assistance and high torque, providing its peak power with a high cadence riding style.
For the battery, Canyon ensures that the Grizl:ON rides for the long run. With a 400 Wh battery plus 250 Wh Range Extender option (making 650 Wh total battery possible), riders will also be treated with the Bosch Flow App and Connectivity Module, bringing a two-stage alarm and effective location tracking should your bike end up in the wrong hands.
Night-time riding is also a smooth process on the Grizl:ON, with the up-front Lupine Nano SL headlight used to illuminate on-road or off-road paths with an on-bar remote, mounted on the new gravel-optimised HB0064 flared handlebar to control the beam setting. All lights are powered by the main battery and will run for two hours, even after the motor runs out of juice.
