Brent Faiyaz continues to establish himself as an audiovisual artist, unveiling a stream of clean, cinematic music videos for a handful of his Wasteland tracks. The multifaceted musician has previewed the second set of visuals coming from his most recent album Larger Than Life just in time for Valentine’s Day, which sees the artist shooting his shot with award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o. Faiyaz is not accompanying fan-favorite cut “WY@” with just another music video, but rather a fully-fledged short film written and directed alongside Nyong’o.
In the trailer for the “WY@” short film, the two are seated at a table on set together. “Do you really know how difficult it is to stay in character while I’m looking at you,” Faiyaz admits to Nyong’o. “Ain’t nothing professional about me,” he tells her later on.
After nearly a minute of Faiyaz flirting with Nyong’o, she tells him “show me what you got.” Faiyaz leans in and the screen goes black.
