BMW has unveiled the Z4 “Pure Impulse” edition, a new variant of the Z4 M40i, combining traditional BMW driving dynamics with exclusive design and technology features.
The Pure Impulse edition marks a significant update for the Z4 M40i, now offering a six-speed manual gearbox option for the first time in its range-topping version. An addition designed to attract purists who are looking for a more hands-on driving experience. The manual transmission pairs with a six-cylinder in-line engine equipped with BMW’s M TwinPower Turbo technology, producing 340 hp.
To further enhance its performance, the Pure Impulse edition features retuned chassis technology and mixed-size M light-alloy wheels, 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, for optimized handling and driving dynamics. Exclusive design elements are showcased in both the exterior and interior, including unique paint finishes and M-specific design cues, underscoring the vehicle’s exclusivity.
As for engineering, the vehicle benefits from a meticulously tuned adaptive M suspension, M Sport brakes and an M Sport differential, ensuring it delivers on the promise of a thrilling ride. These features, combined with a lightweight construction and a nearly perfect 50:50 weight distribution, underscore the Z4’s sporting pedigree.
In addition to performance, the vehicle’s aesthetics have also received an update, including new exterior color options, like Frozen Deep Green metallic for European markets and Sanremo Green metallic for the U.S. Inside, the cabin features Vernasca leather in Cognac with black M piping, exclusive to this edition, adding a touch of luxury.
Set to be available in Germany, other European markets and the USA, the BMW Z4 M40i Pure Impulse edition represents a modern interpretation of BMW’s storied roadster tradition.
