After revealing the vehicle as a concept car at the 2023 New York Auto Show, Hyundai has officially launched the IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition on the market. The car, which will be limited to just 1,000 units, marks the first Hyundai model to be created with visual input from Walt Disney Imagineering.
A matte “Gravity Gold” tone covers the car’s exterior, which features Mickey-inspired badges on its front fenders and runs on Disney100-exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the model includes a two-tone terra brown and mud gray finish, with Disney logos debossed on the front-sat headrests, the central console and the floormats. To top off the Disney magic, the car’s interior screen is equipped with a thematic intro starring the production company’s signature iconography.
Notably, Hyundai is set to show off the car in a new “Platinum Road Trip Social Series,” which will see Disney staples Josh Peck and John Stamos take the inspired IONIQ 5 for a spin to a number of historic Disney locations.
“From all-new ads featuring iconic Disney movie scenes to the introduction of a vehicle with visual creative input from Walt Disney Imagineering, together our brands illustrated there can be magic in every journey,” said Angela Zepeda, Hyundai’s chief marketing officer, in a statement. “We look forward to further collaboration with the beloved Disney brand through our shared commitment to inspiring joy and innovation.”
Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition is now available for purchase at select dealerships, starting at $59,400 USD. Take a closer look at the car in the gallery above.
