Top Gun 3 is officially in the works at Paramount.
According to Puck News, the project will reunite Tom Cruise with Top Gun: Maverick co-stars Miles Teller and Glen Powell.
Ehren Kruger, who co-wrote Maverick, has been charged with writing a script for its sequel. Maverick director Joseph Kosinski is on board as a productor and will potentially helm the project.
Arriving 36 years after the first Top Gun film, Top Gun: Maverick proved a mammoth success for both Cruise and Paramount. The film earned well over $1 billion at the box office, making it the highest-grossing film of Cruise’s career. It was also nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
