The Smashing Pumpkins are looking for a new guitarist to join their ranks. Originally founded in 1988, the long-running alternative rock band’s lineup has evolved over the years.
In the early 2000s, guitarist Jeff Schroeder was brought on board, performing with the band for 15 years before amicably departing last October, explaining that he “decided to leave the band to make some space to explore a slightly different path.”
As for Schroeder’s replacement, the band has opened up the audition process to guitarists everywhere. The new addition would be performing alongside frontman Billy Corgan, who also plays the guitar.
“The Smashing Pumpkins are in search of an additional guitarist,” the band posted on Instagram. “The application process is open to anyone who may be interested.”
The band also provided an email where artists can send their resumes and other “related materials.”
