James Gunn Reveals New Update Regarding 'Peacemaker' Season Two

Earlier this week, James Gunn hopped on Threads to answer some of his fans’ questions about the upcoming DC Extended Universe. While he did discuss the shoot of the 2025 Superman: Legacy film, Gunn also revealed to fans an update regarding the highly-anticipated show, Peacemaker starring John Cena.

Season 1 of the series has been a major hit and Gunn revealed that the second season of the superhero show is “over halfway written.” Peacemaker season two is expected to be Gunn’s next project following Superman, making Cena’s superhero a priority in the DCEU. When asked what he has been up to, he replied saying that he’s working on “just PM season 2 right now while I prep Legacy.”

In the past Cena has been on record to say that he enjoyed the series very much. The events of Peacemaker picks up after the events of The Suicide Squad which also starred Cena as the deadly Christopher Smith, the antihero devoted to peace. The new season is set to see Gunn direct, write and produce. Gunn has also previously confirmed that the second season of Peacemaker is a part of DCU’s Chapter One.
