Kane Brown performed his powerful “Worldwide Beautiful” single at the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards on Wednesday night (Sept. 16).
“I just want everybody to love everybody,” Kane lead off his performance by proclaiming. “And this is a song I wrote for it.” He then gave an emotional performance of the sung-rapped ballad about racial tolerance, playing just as much to the camera as to the COVID-vacated Grande Ole Opry venue — which saw backing singers appear in the upper levels as the song reached its climax.
Brown has no nominations at the 2020 awards, but he was nominated for single of the year at the 2019 ACM Awards for his “Heaven” hit single, losing to Dan + Shay’s “Tequila.” “Worldwide Beautiful” has peaked at No. 28 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart thusfar, and appears on his recently released Mixtape, Vol. 1 set.
The ACM Awards are produced by dick clark productions, which is owned by MRC Media, the parent company of Billboard.
