'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Officially Ending with Season 12

Larry David‘s long-standing comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm is officially ending with Season 12. The 10-episode season is set to hav a series finale on April 7, officially marking the end of the HBO and Max series.

In a statement, David says a heartfelt goodbye to the shoe and the character he had played for so long, “As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character.” He added, “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”

Originally, the Curb series only popped up periodically but in late 2000s, the show released every other year. Taking a big break between 2011 and 2017, the series came back in 2020 and 2021, mounting to 12 season in 24 years. David was famously greenlight at HBO to do a new season whenever he was ready. In the past, executive producer Jeff Schaffer once said, “Every season is the final season. When the last episode occurs, there will never be another episode of Curb. It just takes time for him to go out in the world.” it appears that this time, the goodbye to the beloved show is real, HBO CEO Casey Bloys said, “It’s hard to say farewell to such a ground-breaking, brilliantly funny and iconic series like Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

The cast for the final season sees Tracey Ulman listed as well as the return of Irma Kostroski, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, Cheryl Hines, J.B. Smoove, Richard Lewis, Ted Danson and Vince Vaughn. Season 12 premieres on February 4 at 10 p.m. on HBO and Max.
