The Health Promotion Centre (HPC) is holding a carnival until tomorrow at its premises at the Commonwealth Drive.
The carnival is held to commemorate its 15th anniversary celebrated on November 13.
Medical officer and the carnival’s secretariat Dr Bibina Tuty Umaira binti Haji Abdul Hamid told the Sunday Bulletin that the carnival aims to create a platform to raise awareness on non-communicable diseases and their prevention through a healthy lifestyle and the importance of mental health as well as to acknowledge the continuous support from the centre’s partners in health promotion.
To date, some 1,000 visitors have thronged the carnival which Dr Bibina Tuty Umaira believes to be “a wonderful opportunity to further reiterate their commitment to continuously raise awareness, educate and inspire individuals to adopt healthy habits.”
With a mission to empowering people towards a healthy living, the HPC highlighted the progress made over the years in promoting health and wellness in the community.
A ‘Health Galleria’ is also held until November 30 to exhibit programmes implemented to mark the centre’s anniversary.
