In lieu of a nightcap I sneak back to my suite. The new and improved L’Extrait de Nuit was waiting for me. Its weighty double-walled glass vessel, its sparkling golden hue and the almost unbelievable silk-like texture slip over the skin with such ease and comfort. It combines Madagascan vanilla planifolia, Himalayan swertia and a chrono-peptide that works to rejuvenate and revive the skin. Naturally, I lather a generous layer over my face, neck and hands and sink into the magnificent emperor king bed. I had had a fair few glasses of champagne at The Billiards Room so I wasn’t expecting any skin miracles by morning. So when I woke up looking refreshed I was impressed.
Following some eggs and coffees with the beauty editors I make my way to one of the walled garden cottages, which has temporarily been transformed into a mini spa, for a Sublimage facial with the brilliant Rebecca Pearson. My skin is cleansed and then massaged with a symphony of serums and creams. The Sublimage La Creme comes in three textures, I opt for ‘texture riche’ which Rebecca blends with a few pumps of L’Extrait de Nuit for a little extra decadence.
