Marvel Studios has entered new territory with the trailer for Echo, its first series to receive the TV-MA rating. Watch it below ahead of the show’s January 10th premiere on Disney+ and Hulu.
Alaqua Cox reprises her role as Maya Lopez/Echo after the character was introduced in Hawkeye. Also appearing in the show are Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in their respective roles as Daredevil and Kingpin. In Hawkeye, Echo appeared to shoot and kill Kingpin, but the clip shows that he’s clearly back — sans one eye.
“You and I are the same,” he tells Echo. “So who’s the monster?” The trailer also offers a glimpse into Echo’s Native American roots and the past trauma that transformed her into the vigilante that she is today.

Echo also stars Chaske Spencer, Graham Greene, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, and Cody Lightning.
In addition to being the first Marvel Studios series to be rated TV-MA, Echo will also be the first to debut simultaneously on Disney+ and Hulu (earlier this week, Disney took full control over the latter streaming platform). All five episodes will premiere on January 10th, though they’ll only be available on Hulu until April 9th.
Marvel fans who want to watch the series on Disney+ will have to make sure their profiles are set to TV-MA in order to stream.
