At the “Battle of the Baddest” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury defeated former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou in a controversial split decision. The victory at Kingdom Arena has been marred by detractors as Ngannou dropped Fury in Round Three with a left hook. But only one judge scored the fight 95-94 in favor of Ngannou and the other two gave it to Fury at 96-93 and 95-94.
The “Battle of the Baddest” bout saw Francis Ngannou impress boxing fans and Tyson Fury claim the WBC Commemorative Riyadh.
Earlier in the night, Tommy Fury, half-brother of WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury, defeated KSI. Though immediately after, the result of the fight was altered, after it was revealed that one scorecard had been added up incorrectly. Initially scored 57-56, 57-56, 57-57, the last scorecard was added wrong and should have also been 57-56 with Fury the unanimous-decision victor.
