Give her some sugar.
Palmar Kelly, 27, is a self-confessed “sugar baby” who travels the world with her clients, earning up to $500,000 from the job, according to South West News Service.
Since taking up the title, Kelly has traveled the globe from Las Vegas to Paris — with her patrons paying for first-class tickets and accommodations, plus thousands in per diem funds.
“If that’s what you want to do — don’t feel ashamed,” Kelly, who lives in Florida, told SWNS.
“I think it’s amazing,” the actor and screenwriter added.
Kelly first got into this work when she was living in New York City, and studying at a dramatic arts college in 2014.
As a side hustle, she began stripping, making anywhere from $700 to $1,000 in one night. Kelly was then introduced to the world of “sugaring,” going on dates to make some additional cash.
Typically, those men were aged anywhere between 37 and 45, she said.
“It was a survival thing for me,” Kelly explained. “I didn’t really have to do anything.”
At first, she would get paid around $300 per date, but soon realized that she could raise her prices and continue to get work. Now, she doesn’t accept work for less than $1,000 in New York.
She used the money that she was making at the time to pay for headshots and auditions — and eventually, was able to pay her way through college, too.
Eventually, she made $200,000 without even realizing it. She was “grateful” to realize she wouldn’t need to work in a bar or a coffee shop to scrape together some cash, and could make a living wage by doing something she loved.
Most recently, Kelly took a trip to the Bahamas on a cruise with a man who was 57 and paid $4,000 for her company.
The two stayed in a balcony suite together and enjoyed fun activities on the boat, like gambling.
“He’s amazing,” Kelly told SWNS. “He’s a super nice and respectful man.”
“It was a fun little trip,” she added. “I’m so grateful this person paid for it.”
However, like any other job, there are some downsides to being a sugar baby, she said.
In July, Kelly went on a trip to Sicily with a married couple but cut the trip short as the pair argued incessantly.
She had met them both on TikTok, and saw them twice before they invited her on this 10-day trip. But after just two days she departed feeling “uncomfortable” with caught in the middle of the unhappy spouses.
Currently, Kelly is writing a TV show about her life, focusing on her adventures as a sex worker and all of the trials and tribulations that come along with it.
She wants to end the stigma around it.
“I don’t want anyone to feel ashamed for sex work,” she said. “It can be fun.”
