The Weeknd‘s debut studio album Kiss Land is turning 10 years old in just two days, and in order to properly commemorate the musical milestone, the Canadian artist has looked to collectible aficionado, Superplastic, to serve up something memorable. Releasing on the album’s exact anniversary, The Weeknd and Superplastic linked up to curate a capsule of three unique vinyl figures.
The collection sees the classic SuperJanky model reworked with three new designs in striking green, red and black colorways. The new design styles draw inspiration from Kiss Land‘s mascot, the Super Fantastic Red Panda Cat. Each figure stands tall at eight inches, and dons a custom tail as well as a trippy set of removable VR goggles atop 3D eyes. Have a closer look at the collectibles in the gallery above.
However, only the green collectible is directly available to purchase. On the market for a black or red one? You’ll have to pick the right 8-inch blind box – especially to garner a red one, the collection’s most rare and coveted colorway. While 1200 units of The Green SuperJanky will be released, only 500 units of The Black SuperJanky figure will be released, and just a mere 200 units of The Red SuperJanky.
Each figure retails for $125 USD. The collection will be available to shop beginning Sunday, September 10 on Superplastic’s webstore, The Weeknd’s webstore and at the Superplastic store in New York City.
Elsewhere in music news, Kaytranada says Childish Gambino will appear on his next LP.
