RUF, known for its high-performance vehicles has recently outdone itself, with a “heavily updated and upgraded incarnation” of its CTR 3 Clubsport — dubbed the “CTR3 Evo,” its most powerful supercar yet.
The updated vehicle boasts a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that produces over 800hp and 730 lb-ft of torque, enabling the vehicle to reach top speeds of 236 mph and achieve a 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds. Performance aspects of the CTR3 Evo are brought to life through a water-cooled unit, which is complemented by an aluminum block and cylinder heads, all at the behest of a double-clutch gearbox.
Design elements carry over the same bespoke Clubsport chassis, which are housed in a carbon composite body that Ruf explains is a nod to “sports prototypes of the past.” However, there are a few modern improvements worth noting, including an automatically deploying rear wing, a new front wing, updated mirrors and an improved rear diffuser.
At the interior, the CTR3 Evo makes clear that it is a race car, complete with analog dials, Alcantara all over with yellow contrast stitching, Kevlar and carbon fiber bucket seats, as well as a set of six-point harnesses to drive the message home. All of this sits on forged light alloy wheels that shield six-piston calipers and 380mm perforated ceramic composite brakes.
Price and availability have not yet been shared for the CTR3 Evo, however, based on the $725,000 USD sticker for the 2018 CTR 3 Clubsport, it will likely be in the high six figures if not low sevens. For more information keep an eye on RUF’s official channels.
