Following ‘Utopia’ Concert Cancellation, Travis Scott Fans Still Showed Up at the Pyramids of Giza

Following ‘Utopia’ Concert Cancellation, Travis Scott Fans Still Showed Up at the Pyramids of Giza

Travis Scott’s concert at Egypt’s Pyramids of Giza – an event that would mark the debut live performance of UTOPIA – may have been very publicly canceled, but that didn’t stop fans from showing up anyways.

A few dozen fans made an appearance at the Pyramids on Friday, July 28, the day the concert was originally set to go down. At the historic site, the fans chanted the lyrics to “BYSTANDERS” from Scott’s 2018 album ASTROWORLD in a video shared to social media.

It’s not totally clear if the fans were locals or had made the trek to Egypt for the concert and simply wanted to commemorate the occasion despite its cancellation.

After Live Nation Middle East confirmed two days prior that Scott’s concert wouldn’t be taking place due to “complex production issues,” La Flame took to social media to affirm that he still planned to perform at the Pyramids in the future.

“Egypt at the pyramids will happen,” he wrote on Twitter. “But due to demand and detail logistics. They just need a bit a time to set lay on lands. I will keep u posted on a date which will be soon love you alllll.”

In other music news, Travis Scott’s UTOPIA set a new record as the most-streamed album on Spotify in 2023.
