Over the years, Fender has teamed up with some of the best in the business to craft bespoke, limited-edition guitars. For its new project, the California guitar brand looked to Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge.
As one-third of the pop-punk group, DeLonge has been an instrumental force in the world of guitar. Designing his own Stratocaster, he sought to emulate the sound of his long-running band. The Stratocaster features output and turbo-charged tones, ideal for quick riffs and powerful chords. It also has single master tone control for a streamlined approach to adjusting volume, along with a “C” neck with medium jumbo frets.
Visually speaking, the guitar comes in a bright pastel blue and boasts a neck plate with original artwork created by DeLonge himself, while tuners take inspiration from vintage guitars of the same type, while
“I try to write music that is accessible and easy to play and enjoy, so that people can come along for the ride. This simplicity really inspired this new signature Stratocaster,” DeLonge said. “It just has one knob and one pickup, which just makes it easy to turn it up, play and sound great, especially important when you’re in front of a crowd and already have plenty to think about. On top of that, the bright colors give it a timeless, California feel that stands out on any stage.”
Tom DeLonge’s Stratocaster guitar is available on Fender’s website for $1,299 USD. Guitar accessories are available at an additional cost.
